Undergraduate Studies In Nursing

Associate of Science in Nursing
A two year technical degree nursing education program that prepares graduates for basic nursing care in hospitals and long term care settings.
Four semesters of clinical are offered at Shreveport and Leesville campuses.

LPN to RN

A two year program that allows the LPN to receive credit for prior learning thru a state articulation plan. The purpose of the articulation plan is to facilitate the upward mobility of students in the nursing curriculum. The Associate of Science in Nursing prepares graduates to provide basic nursing care in hospitals and long term care settings. Two semesters of clinical are offered on the Shreveport and Natchitoches campuses.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
A  four year professional nursing education program that includes liberal arts education preparing graduates for beginning nursing practice in a wide variety of settings including acute and long term care, community and school health and critical care. After three semesters of academic courses and acceptance into clinical courses, students must complete five semesters of clinical courses on the Shreveport campus or  Alexandria Rapides Regional Medical Center Campus.

RN to BSN
An individualized plan assisting the registered nurses who want to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. This program is designed to offer flexibility in meeting the needs of a practicing nurse. Internet classes are offered from Shreveport and traditional daytime classes are offered in Alexandria.

Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences
The students are taught state of the art technology and imaging techniques with human compassion. This program has four semesters of general academic courses. After acceptance into clinical, five semesters of clinical are required on the Shreveport or Alexandria campuses.

Graduate Studies In Nursing

Masters of Science in Nursing
This program provides the student with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing the opportunity to develop advanced knowledge, intellectual skills and clinical competence necessary for the role of the advanced practice nurse. Areas of concentration include:

1. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP),

2. Adult Nursing Critical Care Nursing of the Adult,

3. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

4. Maternal-Child Nursing,

5. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP),

6. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) and

7. Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).
