Welcome from the DeanIt is my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Nursing and Allied Health web site. As the oldest state supported nursing program in Louisiana, it is our goal to build upon the historical excellence of our nursing and radiologic sciences programs. We have expert and dedicated faculty and staff committed to preparing students for success in these professional fields. We trust these students will follow in the footsteps of our over 7,000 College of Nursing alumni, who have distinguished themselves by providing caring, competent health care to citizens in Louisiana and throughout the world!
Facing the future in health care with critical shortages of personnel will be challenging. We seek to meet those challenges by continuing to create stronger and more flexible academic programs. Our vision is to remain the pacesetter and innovator in the educational preparation of individuals pursuing careers in nursing and radiologic sciences. To this end, the faculty and staff have adopted and incorporated the following values into the mission of the College of Nursing and Allied Health: EXCELLENCE, RESPECT, CARING, TEAMWORK and PROFESSIONALISM. Our students represent the future of health care and we must continue to nurture these individuals through outward, daily demonstration of these values, personally and professionally.
We hope you will visit our web site often. Thank you for your interest in the Northwestern State University College of Nursing and Allied Health.
Sincerely,
Norann Y. Planchock, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC
Dean and Professor
